Alexandre Jean-Claude & André Foisy

Alexandre Jean Claude is Development Manager for Data management Team in games technology at Autodesk in the Media & Entertainment division. After completing the baccalauréat in computer science at the Université du Québec à Montréal, he went to work for Softimage in the game tools division. He then went on to manage the visualization, data management, interoperability and SDK teams.

Andre Foisy is Development Manager for games technology at Autodesk in the Media & Entertainment division. Before joining Autodesk, Andre was teaching computer science, programming, OS design and computer graphics. He joined Softimage and its 3D modeling division and worked on operators architecture as well as modeling. His current job at Autodesk as much involves the conception of system architecture as the planning of product schedules. Andre studied computer graphics and computer-aided vision at Université de Montréal. He then completed a Phd in robotics at the Center for Intelligent Machines at McGill University.

Synopsis:
State of things past and future.
The presentation will mainly be a retrospective of 3D computer graphics from the last two years. They are going to focus on the biggest trends in technology, research and development and working practices. They will then talk about democracy in digital imaging and its impact on cinema, video games, the arts and computer-aided conception. They will finish with a description of how digital imaging techniques and 3D computer graphics will converge in the near future.
